Tony Vargas Photography Receives 2008 Best of Mc Allen Award

U.S. Local Business Association’s Award Plaque Honors the Achievement

WASHINGTON D.C., October 28, 2008 -- Tony Vargas Photography has been selected for the 2008 Best of Mc Allen Award in the Wedding Photographers category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).

The USLBA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2008 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

Local Attraction - Edinburg's Museum

The Edinburg Museum (Actually Called The Museum of South Texas History) is a known building just north of the court house in Edinburg.

Growing up, the school would take us on yearly field trips to the museum - and I remember it as being as interesting as watching paint dry, and as modern as cranking your car to go to work.

But I took advantage of the free admission on Sunday's before 12 noon, to see what was there.  I was amazed to see that they had remodeled the place, brought in new, but still historic, material, and was much larger than what I remember it.

Two things caught my attention though.  One - no flash cameras or tripod are allowed.  Flash I can understand... but tripods??????  I was asked 4 times during my visit to please stop using flash (when my flash was off) and was asking why I was taking pictures...

The second thing that caught my attention is the huge... and I mean HUGE mammoth skeleton they have upstairs.  Truly awesome.

As always, pics from the event. McAllen Palm Fest

McAllen Palm Fest was a great experience and an awesome venue!  Most of you were out there, so there is not much to say.  But I will say, as the Fajita Cook Off was the main attraction - I was expecting to eat some really good fajitas.  We went to nearly 10 booths until we found someone who was serving tacos.  And...... well..... the HEB Marinated Fajitas tasted better (in my opinion).

Pics from the venue!!!!

New Month - New Promotion !!!!

Thank you to everyone who took advantage of the September special - where you received 25% off when you paid in full.

Though a lot of clients took advantage of that offer, there were those who understandably could not.  Well, knowing what it is like to be a newlywed myself, and since this is the 10th month of the year - I have decided to take 10% off the entire bill when you book with us in October.  No, you do not need to pay in full to get this deal - just book with us before October 31st.

March, June, July, and November 2009 brides - I suggest you hurry.  These months are getting full fast!!!!!
